I did a set of alphonse mucha inspired fanart of sailor moon a few years back...which I never finished. Looking back I was just getting use to painter and my new tablet and I'm pretty embarrassed about how awful my work use to look. I never finished the set and since I've improved over the course of the years I want to re-do what I've done and finish the set!
Though my artwork isn't where I want it to be yet I have to say I am pretty happy with how this one turned out.
OF course i started off with the moon- serenity (cuz shes my favorite duh!) but since I drew the overall image smaller too it takes less time to color.
Lastly...I copied the mucha frame from one of his famous images, hence the border on the top. I didn't know what to put up there but felt like removing it would make the overall image feel like it was missing something. Was thinking MOON, but it looked weird, then i thought of putting serenity in Greek but that looked weird too.. soo I'll just leave it as is.
*edit 3/3/13* adding MOON..it looks too weird blank
Whut is scary is that I'm looking at this just as I had to finish a calender project where I had to draw an illustration in Mucha style! lol. I like HimeGabi's suggestion for adding stuff like moon phases and such. I also think if you emphasized the toes a bit on the feet, it would also look better. All of the body is detailed except for the feet, and it throws me off a bit lol. All in all though, I really like this work. Then again, I am a huge fan of your Silver Millennium webcomic <3.
